Quranic Fixed Shares (Faraid)
- Husband: 1/2 (no children), 1/4 (with children)
- Wife: 1/4 (no children), 1/8 (with children) - shared among wives
- Father: 1/6 (with children), residual otherwise
- Mother: 1/6 (with children or siblings), 1/3 otherwise
- Daughter: 1/2 (single), 2/3 shared (multiple)
- Son: Residual (gets twice daughter's share)
- Full Sister: 1/2 (single), 2/3 shared (multiple) when no children/parents
'Asabah (Residual Heirs)
'Asabah are relatives who inherit what remains after fixed shares are distributed. Males typically receive twice females' shares.
Order of 'Asabah:
- Son, then son's son (descendants)
- Father, then grandfather (ascendants)
- Brother, then nephew (collateral)
- Male relatives through father
Special Cases in Inheritance
- Grandparents: May inherit when parents are deceased
- Uterine Siblings: Share 1/3 if no children/parents
- Pregnant Wife: Inheritance held until birth
